e:c:car

is a policy-driven car configurator for fleet managers, online portals and car dealers.

The application consists of different modules and can be customized (skinnning).
• The configurator module is used to select vehicles and activate optional equipment.
• The internal policy module implements budget monitoring, TCO calculations, emission restrictions and mandatory equipment.
• The admin module provides user management, assignment of drivers to driver grades and management of orders. These functions can be automated via web service.

Vehicle selection

The driver finds his desired vehicle via filter functions from a basic list of possible vehicles in his driver class. Budget, emission limits and restrictions of the drive type or vehicle class from the policy are taken into account.

Optional equipment

The core function is the selection of optional equipment according to the manufacturer’s build rules. The necessary mandatory equipment of the policy is thereby enforced. Price advantages of packages are suggested to the driver automatically. All price rules and discounts are displayed continuously and own calculations of TCO or leasing/financing rates can be integrated.

Parking

The parking saves all configured vehicles of the current browser session. The driver does not lose any ‘configuration work’ of a session and can switch between vehicles at will. The driver can enter and change names and free descriptions for his vehicles in the parking lot.

Garage

The driver can save vehicles beyond the browser session in a permanent garage. These vehicles can be recalled in subsequent sessions and further configured.

Compare

Several vehicles are listed with the comparison side by side in all properties. The ‘best’ properties in each case are highlighted by color coding (heatmapping). The driver can transfer equipment from one vehicle to the other vehicle with one mouse click, so similarly configured variants of vehicle groups from different manufacturers can be easily produced.

Calculations

Many calculations can be included as a standard implementation from our collection of modules or can be implemented as a project by us. Standard modules include e.g. the calculation of benefit in kind (BIK) for many European countries or special tax calculations such as BPM for the Netherlands.

Specifications

The foundation for e:c:car are the specifications of JATO Dynamics which are updated continuously. For the use of the specifications a separate license is necessary. This license is mostly negotiated by our customers directly with JATO.

Visualizations

The visualization of the configured cars can be done with the image library from JATO. This is included in the basic price of the JATO license and it contains mostly some sample images for each model.
